The book of 2 Samuel tells the story of David—Israel’s greatest king, a man after God’s own heart, and a shadow of the greater King to come. Through his victories, failures, and restoration, we see how God works through flawed people to accomplish his perfect purposes.
We’re beginning with “When God Raises Up a Man” (2Sam. 1-4), where the kingdom of Israel stands in the ruins of Saul’s collapse. While power lies within reach, David waits on the Lord. Through grief, loyalty, and conflict, God quietly shapes the heart of his chosen king.
